For many years, the car and 4×4 accessory market has been super-inflated with headlights, spotlights, led bars and other lighting devices. The offer ranges from very inexpensive products from a few euros to modern LED bars costing several hundred euros or even a thousand, certainly of quality, but perhaps a bit exaggerated for the sector in question. The choice must be made taking into account one’s needs, the intended use of the device, one’s budget, but also taking into account these very simple considerations:
- A poor quality LED bar, while cheap, does not illuminate adequately. Or rather, it illuminates but in much less than the stated amount, so it does not allow you to best calibrate your choice, risking buying a 120 W. bar because it is deemed sufficient, when the actual output is 40-60 at most
- The bar itself, although sufficient as lighting, has a very sloppy construction system, and the resulting insulation from the weather is poor. As a result frequent will be seepage, non-functioning modules, and short will be the life of the product
- Always the same bar can create problems with the battery and electrical system of the vehicle, necessitating sometimes the removal of the device, sometimes the replacement of the battery or even worse
- A very high-end and very expensive bar certainly does not generate these problems, but sometimes it does not have very favorable value for money, and sometimes it has a number of features and functions that make it delicate and complicated, sometimes unnecessarily so for the average off-roader.
