This section includes all the transmission parts for the Land Rover Defender, from the driveshaft to the wheel flanges, including ring and pinion gears, CV joints, and half-shafts. Driveshafts are available in three categories: standard driveshafts, which replace the original with a new part of equivalent quality; high-angle driveshafts, which are reinforced, with greater diameter and thickness compared to the standard driveshaft, and work at nearly double the angle of the original; and double-cardan driveshafts, which are reinforced, with larger diameter and thickness, featuring a high-angle joint on the differential side and a double joint on the transfer case side. The double joint works at over twice the angle of the standard driveshaft, distributing rotation and preventing vibrations caused by excessive angle in lifted setups.Ring and pinion gears, apart from a standard replacement model, are all reinforced and come with different gear ratios. They reduce the downstream ratio relative to the transfer case, affecting both standard and low-range gears. A wide range is available, from minimal reduction to models with a 4.75 ratio, providing up to 40% reduction for extreme uses. CV joints, half-shafts, and flanges are available both as standard replacements and in reinforced versions. Reinforced models come with extended warranties, ranging from 5 years for some models to a lifetime guarantee for others. This extended warranty covers all types of breakage, not just manufacturing defects, and is activated by presenting the purchase proof and a photo of the broken product.
